Tailored To Strength: How Unite for Her Helped Me Heal And Why I’m Paying It Forward With the Beyond Pink Collection

In September 2019, I received a phone call that changed everything.

It was a stage zero breast cancer diagnosis. DCIS in my left breast. I was at work when the call came in, and somehow, deep down, I already knew what they were going to say. I cried for about five minutes. Then I wiped my tears and focused on treatment. Let’s get on with it.

But what followed wasn’t simple. My team recommended 25 rounds of radiation, and I pushed back advocating instead for a double mastectomy with reconstruction. It was hard navigating those early days, especially when my care team didn’t quite understand my decision. But I trusted my gut, even when it meant waiting. A second opinion was scheduled, but then... the pandemic hit.

And so, for two years, life carried on, that is, until October 2021, when I heard those words again. This time, it was stage 1 IDC in my right breast. I had just lost my father weeks earlier, and this new diagnosis felt like life had poured salt on fresh wounds.

But this time, there was no hesitation. My care team supported my decision for a double mastectomy. I didn’t have symptoms, no lumps, no glaring signs. I just had my intuition, grief, and a quiet resilience.

Finding Comfort Through Community

During my hospital stay, a kind-hearted social worker came to check on me. She asked about my situation, and not long after, a Care Box arrived at my doorstep. It was from Unite for Her, a nonprofit organization that supports women diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer.

What made Unite for Her stand out was how personal the support felt. They offer a "passport" with six wellness experiences, and I got to choose what I needed. Whether it was acupuncture, groceries, meal kits, or weekly produce deliveries they met me where I was.

One of the greatest gifts they gave me was the meal prep kit delivery. I had limited strength, couldn’t lift much, and chopping ingredients was a challenge. Those kits brought a sigh of relief during a time that felt heavy. It wasn’t just food…it was breathing room.

I wasn’t a business owner yet. I was a mom, grieving daughter, and brand-new survivor. And in that moment, Unite for Her became my community. Their care wasn’t just physical, it was emotional, spiritual, and deeply human.

Beyond Pink: Giving Back, One Piece at a Time

I come from a large family with a history of breast cancer. I’ve walked and donated for years. But after living it myself, I knew I wanted to give back differently.  I wanted to give back in a way that directly helps women now.

That’s how the Beyond Pink Collection was born.

It’s a line of handcrafted tumblers, trays, keychains, resin pieces, and exclusive polymer clay earrings. You may see some adorned with pink ribbons, others soft and subtle, for those who don’t want to wear their diagnosis on their sleeve. Every piece is created with love, intention, and purpose.

Most importantly, 25% of every purchase will be donated to Unite for Her year-round. Donations will be made quarterly, and I’ll be sharing the impact we’re making together.

Healing Through Giving

My hope is that you fall in love with these pieces not just for their beauty, but for what they represent: healing, hope, and heart. Whether you’re a survivor, supporting someone in treatment, or simply want to give with purpose, your purchase helps another woman eat a nourishing meal, join a support group, or access the holistic care she deserves.

We don’t always see the ripple effect of kindness but I felt it. I lived it. And now I want to pass it on.

Be Part of the Impact

Beyond Pink Collection is launching soon, and I’d love for you to be part of it.

Sign up to join the Quaint Crew to receive emails and be the first to know when the collection goes live. Together, we can make sure no woman walks through cancer alone.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for helping me turn pain into purpose.

With love,
Amanda 💗
